Sup guys, i am just getting back into SC2 after a like 3 season break. HotS is pretty new to me, but i know mothership cores are useful for early expansions and such. My main question is what should I do to pick back up? Any good starter builds for any of the matchups (i am silver).
Also as a follow up question do you guys like how HotS added to the game?

At the silver level, the best thing to do is work on your mechanics. Builds don't actually start working against other builds until about platinum. A good starting point would be an early 1-2 gate expo with a mothership core and then just react to whatever you see your opponent doing. He going roaches? Get immortals. Fast third? Crush him with immortals. Blink stalker all in coming your way? Get a robo and pump out....actually yeah just build immortals always. =D
Seriously though, just work on your multitasking and mechanics and APM and the builds will become apparent to you as you climb up the ladder ^^

Yeah, I just know that I was in Plat a few seasons ago and was fine, so I don't think it will take me long to get back up to a level where builds matter. I just figured 1-2 gate Mothership core is perfect for everything because it is so strong. Now how do I handle the mid game exam rush? It seems as if my opponents don't understand I don't want to play starcraft instead of study

Dcon I don't think you have to worry about how to play as much as playing more. I saw your fours ability and it was pretty decent. I think with a little time, you can be in plat again. Zak is right, but it will certainly help to play more. And also, that gif is amazing....

Thanks, I like to think I didn't lose all my skill. The only thing now is the tiny changes, new units, etc. Cannons still just as fun. I have won so many ladder games by putting two pylons and two cannons behind a zerg natural

some builds will roll your opponent till you get to upper plat/ even diamond. Hard counters like 1 gas 7 gate massacres a 3 fast zerg. if you get HT against terran I never saw a single ghost till upper plat and even still when you play terran pump out those obs because Hue widow mines terran op. One more thing. if a terran goes cc before racks, just 4 gate and kill him
