Last night Group B finished first round of games and the standings look like this (in order of tie breaker):
Fnatic: 3-1 Gambit: 3-1 Ozone: 2-2 Vulcun: 2-2 Mineski: 0-4
Now one thing that jumps out at me is the two 3-1s. Both from Europe, with one loss from Vulcun and one loss from the game between themselves. This is solid playing by the powerhouses from Europe, and I look forward to see how it goes.
Another thing that jumps out at me is that Vulcun is 2-2, but seriously in a hole since they lost to Ozone. It is one of those things where if they win out they will go through, but this is worlds, winning out is not easy. Vulcun is going to need some help to get through. I honestly think they will pull it together and make a good run and will be either 2nd or 3rd in the group. They had some great play vs Fnatic.
3rd thing is Mineski. They are 0-4. They are basically out of worlds barring a major comeback. What kind of crazy tricks can they pull now? Will they pull an upset and throw the standings around? Will they all of a sudden gain momentum and win some games? Who knows. All I know is that in the other teams' positions, I would be overlooking Mineski, but feeling kinda uneasy about it.
What do you guys think about the Group B results so far?

Korea came in cocky like they were best because every country hypes them up. They probably are the best, but got dumpstered due to a poor mindset. Gambit wants it bad, but Fnatic is their kryptonite, I was really pulling for them to win it so ozone had less chance of making it past groups. Really curious how group A does today, though i see SKT probably winning hard now that they realize they aren't invincible. I predict TSM getting knocked out, and won't get any further until regi either learns how to be a leader, or takes himself off the roster like Hotshot did. Lemondogs sleeper OP and will probably win worlds. Wish the bear team was better.

I'm still pulling for Gambit to win this. I'm waiting to see what the Quarter guys have to work with, Cloud 9 and company. From NA, I only see Cloud 9 doing any work. I don't think Vulcan is as strong. Some part of me feels the reason Gambit lost to Fnatic was because of their skrims. IIRC, Ich said they had been practicing mainly against China/Korea. He seems to not respect NA or EU, which I don't blame em. There's not much coming from either region, imo. But I think that their practice against asia put them in a certain mindset that recoiled when they played Fnatic. I'm hoping they turn it around and dominate the rest of worlds.

I also feel like Vulcun can come back, but after their performance against Gambit I feel like they have to make adjustments. Also losing to Ozone was painful. I also feel like TSM needs a change. Chaox leaving was a good change, but not the full push they needed. I'm still pulling for Gambit to win this. I'm waiting to see what the Quarter guys have to work with, Cloud 9 and company. I think Gambit is a solid team, but Fnactic looked way sharper. I love Gambit, but Fnatic finally pulled it together with their whole "who will adc?" thing and are looking great. I think Vulcun is stronger than C9 honestly. They seem to bring more variety to a game. Maybe C9 will suprise me, I do know they have sick transitions into early objectives. Definitely looking forward to quarters.
